Who are we?

yTalent is a startup recruitment agency specializing in finding the key hires for startups and scale-ups. We make high-performers accessible to companies giving them the possibility to grow their business without worrying about the hiring process and ensuring a successful new hire. What makes us stand out from the crowd is our specialized use of AI data in this process. We focus on proved predictability of soft and hard skills rather than simply a gut-feeling and CV scanning. yTalent is 100% founder owned and its journey started in 2020 with headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.

How do you know your new hire will become a high performer?

The first time Jakob B. Hanssen started to think about what makes talented people talented, was during his coaching experience for elite football players. He began to see patterns, or different characteristics if you will, that players showed before joining the team and later on became highly performing players.

He wanted to incorporate this knowledge in a business world where he worked in sales and sales leadership positions for more than 12 years. During this time, he gained experience in recruitment. After experiencing a wrong hire that ended up costing over half a million DKK in salaries and additional costs, he thought to himself: “There must be a way to make the hiring process and outcomes more predictable.” The challenge was, how to do it?

In 2019, Jakob came up with a thought of challenging the LinkedIn approach and found himself right at the beginning of his journey of starting yTalent. In April 2020, he laid the foundation to start the company, and from August 2020, yTalent became a full-time startup. yTalent was founded with the purpose to disrupt how the entire recruitment industry works today, and use data analysis on both hard and soft skills.
